Dear Doctors,
Greetings from Society of Internal Medicine of Nepal.
I hope all Past Presidents, SIMON members and our well-wishers are doing good.
I write this message in response to the concern on the recent developments and to share information about the scheduled activities of the Society in the new context.
As you may be aware, we have declared our international conference for 12th and 13th December 2025, to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal. While we were preparing for our conference, we witnessed a huge uprising on 8th September 2025. A lot of historical, public and private infrastructure were destroyed on 9th September. While we are now in a political transition, we have started our regular chores and are now into the holy Dashain and Tihar festivals. On behalf of the Executive Committee, I wish you a happy Bada Dashain, Tihar, Deepawali & Chhath 2082 BS; and also a Happy New Year Nepal Sambat 1146,
While the country enters into the phase of reconstruction and reconciliation, we remain committed to contribute from our capacity. We have decided to hold the conference on the same dates as announced. Our committees will work hard, even during the festivals, to make up for the loss incurred due to political unrest and the psychological strain that we have been through. The conference will now be held in the Royal Tulip Kathmandu, Gwarko. You can visit the website (https://www.sarovarhotels.com/royal-tulip-kathmandu/) to learn more about it.
We will update the conference activities through our website www.simon.org.np
I am sure you will cooperate and help us achieve our combined goals through your active participation in the event despite the difficulties.
Please let me know what can be done to facilitate a smooth conduct of the event.
I wish all happy festivals.
Thank you.
